Fun Few Days

Hope y'all had a nice Memorial Day weekend.  I know we sure did!  Chris decided to head out to the golf course on Saturday...no surprises there. So, the girls and I figured we'd go on a little adventure.  We got lunch at Chick Fil-A, then drove over to Fort Yargo State Park.  We went on a walk, then got the urge to rent a canoe.  Ahh...we're such pros at that!  PIECE.OF.CAKE!

There were 3 of us, but the only canoe they had available was for 2 people. So, Brittany ended up having to sit on the floor of the canoe in a big, puddle of water.  Not off to a good start.

We, finally, made our way from the beach area, but we never went much farther.  Basically, we sat in the middle of the lake and went in 360 degree circles, over and over, again.  I think our paddles were defective! Boy, did we get in some good laughs...and I'm sure a lot of people who were watching us did, too!

We were somehow able to make it back to shore without the assistance of a rescue boat.  Felt good to be back on dry land, again!

We decided to head back home since we were going to a baseball game that evening.  It's the minor league Braves team that plays close to where we live.

Here's the mascot, Chopper, who's always hamming it up for the crowd!

We topped off the night with a late-night trip to Sonic for a round of milkshakes. Worth every single calorie!  I'll be sure to post tomorrow about our Memorial Day and pictures of our house now that its covered in a fresh coat of paint.  Have a good one!

P.S.  I wanted to thank each of you for your words of encouragement and prayers regarding my GYN. procedure tomorrow. I made a mistake...I'm having a colposcopy, not a Cone biopsy.  I'm not sure why I got confused.  All I know for sure is that I'm ready to have it over and done with. Please keep those prayers coming!  THANK YOU!

Fun In The Sun!

Ahh...sweet summertime! I really hate to see it leave us in a few short weeks, though I am ready for cooler weather to roll on in.  One thing I'm definitely going to miss is trips to Mayfield Dairy for a big cone of some of their scrumptious ice cream!  My favorite flavor is definitely Mint Chocolate Chip!  Can't you tell that I'm ready to lick away?

Like me, Abby is a huge fan of Mint Chocolate Chip, too, but she, also, loves Rainbow Sherbet!

Too bad Brittany was out doing her own thing on this particular day.  Mmm...she doesn't know what she missed!

For July 4th, we headed to my mother-in-law's place in South Carolina for three days.  Both of the girls brought along their best friends and they all had such fun!  We spent a lot of time on the lake, which is in my mother-in-law's backyard.  We took the girls tubing and skiing every day.  Here they are riding the waves...literally!  I can't help but laugh at the look of utter terror on their faces!

Brittany and Chris were the only two who decided to go skiing.  Well, Alicia tried, but wasn't very successful, bless her heart.  I definitely give her an A+ for effort! Brittany learned how to ski last summer and it took her a few tries before she had the hang of it, again.

Here's Mr. Show-Off himself...skiing slalom.

On July 3rd, my mother-in-law always hosts a huge outdoor party for about 70 people.  She provides Frogmore Stew, hotdogs, and drinks and everyone else brings a dish to share.  The food is always the highlight of the evening. Homemade banana pudding, cole slaw, apple pie...need I say more? Then, there's a big fireworks display directly across the lake from the point she lives on, so we always have the perfect view.

Here's Alicia and Brittany hamming it up for the camera.

Abby and Kelcie had a ball driving around in my mother-in-law's golf cart.

Chris is helping his good friend, Russel, make sure the stew doesn't boil over.

Abby and I are trying to decide what we're going to pile on our plates.

This is one of several beautiful sunsets we got to enjoy while we were there.  Almost takes your breath away, doesn't it?

I'm not quite sure where my next post will take us, but you can rest assured knowing it will be yet another adventure!

I ♥ Faces...Friends Forever

I am really excited about this week's theme over at I ♥ Faces...SILHOUETTE. There's just so many different directions you can go with it. I, immediately, had a photo come to mind that I took last summer. We'd taken a trip to my in-law's house in South Carolina for the 4th of July. They live right on a lake, so the scenery is spectacular! Well, Brittany's best friend, Alicia, went along with us and they had such fun going tubing, skiing, swimming, and just hanging out. On our last night there, the sun was doing down and the sky turned the prettiest color. I had Brittany and Alicia stand close to the water's edge holding each other's hands and here's the result...

Now, go on over to I ♥ Faces and check out all the amazing photos this week! You'll be "oohing" and "aahing" all day long!
