About Me

Warmest welcome to my blog! I hope that you will enjoy reading what I share about my family, faith, and adventures in life. I like to write straight from my heart, which is how I came up with the title of my blog. I believe in being real and authentic and wouldn't have it any other way.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in the great state of Arkansas. After earning my Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology from Arkansas State University in 1986, I moved to Knoxville, TN. where I earned my Master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Tennessee in 1987. I worked as a speech-language pathologist for the Knox Co. Schools for 4 years. I married my husband, Chris, in 1989 and we welcomed our first daughter in 1992, then our second daughter came along in 1996. I gave up my career to be a full-time stay-at-home mom and I've never looked back. It's the best decision I've ever made. Being a wife and mom is all I've ever really wanted to be in life. It was important for me to stay home with my girls and instill in them morals and values and to watch them grow and learn. It wasn't always easy, but it was so worth it.

Through the years, we've lived in Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia. The south is where we hope to always have the fortunate of living. I love the outdoors, photography, exercising, and spending time with those I hold near and dear to my heart. One of the most important things to me has always been making lasting memories with my family. My family includes my husband, Chris, our two grown daughters, Brittany and Abby, our son-in-law, David, and our two pups, Bella and Coco.

Life is full, crazy, fun, and unpredictable. So grateful God chose me for this journey and I look forward to seeing all that lies ahead!
