Fun In The Sun!

Ahh...sweet summertime! I really hate to see it leave us in a few short weeks, though I am ready for cooler weather to roll on in.  One thing I'm definitely going to miss is trips to Mayfield Dairy for a big cone of some of their scrumptious ice cream!  My favorite flavor is definitely Mint Chocolate Chip!  Can't you tell that I'm ready to lick away?

Like me, Abby is a huge fan of Mint Chocolate Chip, too, but she, also, loves Rainbow Sherbet!

Too bad Brittany was out doing her own thing on this particular day.  Mmm...she doesn't know what she missed!

For July 4th, we headed to my mother-in-law's place in South Carolina for three days.  Both of the girls brought along their best friends and they all had such fun!  We spent a lot of time on the lake, which is in my mother-in-law's backyard.  We took the girls tubing and skiing every day.  Here they are riding the waves...literally!  I can't help but laugh at the look of utter terror on their faces!

Brittany and Chris were the only two who decided to go skiing.  Well, Alicia tried, but wasn't very successful, bless her heart.  I definitely give her an A+ for effort! Brittany learned how to ski last summer and it took her a few tries before she had the hang of it, again.

Here's Mr. Show-Off himself...skiing slalom.

On July 3rd, my mother-in-law always hosts a huge outdoor party for about 70 people.  She provides Frogmore Stew, hotdogs, and drinks and everyone else brings a dish to share.  The food is always the highlight of the evening. Homemade banana pudding, cole slaw, apple pie...need I say more? Then, there's a big fireworks display directly across the lake from the point she lives on, so we always have the perfect view.

Here's Alicia and Brittany hamming it up for the camera.

Abby and Kelcie had a ball driving around in my mother-in-law's golf cart.

Chris is helping his good friend, Russel, make sure the stew doesn't boil over.

Abby and I are trying to decide what we're going to pile on our plates.

This is one of several beautiful sunsets we got to enjoy while we were there.  Almost takes your breath away, doesn't it?

I'm not quite sure where my next post will take us, but you can rest assured knowing it will be yet another adventure!
