Locked Out...And Other Weekend "Adventures"

Friday was a stressful day! We had a showing scheduled for 4:30 PM, so I zipped around and got everything in tip-top shape. You know my usual drill! Well, the realtor called at 4:00 PM saying that her client had an emergency at work and wanted to know if we could reschedule for Sunday. Sure, no problem, lady...I'm just here for your convenience! Do you get the sense that my stress level was way up there?

We had another showing scheduled for Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. The good thing is that I already had the house picked up, so I didn't have to do it, again. I let Abby sleep in as late as I could, then we left to go drive around while our house was being shown. Chris was on his way home from watching Brittany compete at LSU and was due home around noon. Well, after the showing was over, Abby and I went back home so that she could get herself ready as we were planning to go out for lunch with Chris. We got out of the car and I reached for the garage door that leads into our house, but it didn't turn. Yeah, you've got it...we were LOCKED OUT! I've never had a house key on my key ring because we always keep the garage door unlocked. The one Chris had he gave to our realtor to put in our lock box. Not too smart, I know! Well, long story short, Abby and I had to sit outside and wait for over an hour for our realtor to swing by and unlock our front door for us. Definitely not the way I'd planned to start off our weekend!

Chris got home shortly, thereafter, and we went and grabbed some Chinese food for lunch. As we were waiting to place our order, Abby and I noticed these typos on our menus. Hmm...think I'll steer clear of Moo Goo Gai Pain and what in the world is Brococcoli?

Our weather on Saturday afternoon was out-of-this world BEAUTIFUL! The temps. reached the mid-70's...everyone was out in shorts and flip-flops! After we went to lunch, we went over to Home Depot and got some copies made of our house key. I will keep one on my key ring from now on! Of course, I couldn't resist buying some violas. Just look at those magnificent colors!

Maddie couldn't pass on the chance to stretch out in the warm sunshine and soak up some rays.

Of course, Bella had a one-track mind and wanted to play ball...over and over, again! What I'd give for just an ounce of her energy!

So, tell, me...how was your weekend? Any "adventures" you care to share?

P.S. My good bloggy friend, Mamarazzi, is having a giveaway over at her blog Dandelion Wishes . How 'bout you pay her a visit and get your name in the hat to WIN?

Mid 70's, shorts, and flip flops makes me cry. We just got done shoveling the foot of snow we got yesterday.
I miss flowers. Yours are so pretty.

The menu made me laugh! :oD

It's suppose to get up to 80 here today. So beautiful to see the birds in the yard and the flowers blooming.
I know you hope the house will sell soon, it can be so stressful.

Selling your house is such a PAIN! I was relieved to take it off the market but mad that it hadn't sold and that the price kept going down. Your dogs are adorable!!!

You've got to love been locked out. So close...yet so far.

I had intestinal issues, so I had weekend adventures of my own (I'll keep all details to myself!)!

First of all, being locked out of the house really sucks (sorry for my icky choice of words, but that's about all that fits this situation). You have reminded me that I need to make copies of my key as well.

What is worse, though, is being locked IN your house. One of the springs on my garage door opener completely broke, rendering the door unopenable (not a word, I know). I could not go to work because I couldn't get out!!!

Now, on to the cuteness.

How adorable are your pictures? I actually laughed out loud (as opposed to LOL online). Great job in taking those pictures!!

It's frustrating enough trying to keep a house "perfect" in order to sell it, but locked out . . .

Poor baby!

I'm glad you ended up having a wonderful afternoon in spite of all the trouble. It sounds like it was gorgeous out. We were to expect a warm up and it didn't go above 35 and on Sunday it rained and sleeted! Today, too. Yuk!

XO,
Jane

Our house, from where we moved from, is still on the market - and I know just exactly how you feel about getting everything clean (4+ boys). We never had a key - we kept the garage door unlocked, too and used our garage door opener!

We had an archery tournament and just enjoyed the weekend! It was nice.

Our weekend was nice and relaxing. We have locked ourselves out in the same way before though. We now have extras sprinkled around the house and yard.

Girl, I would do almost anything to get pics of Blackie like the ones you get of Bella! Those action shots ROCK!!! I feel sure there are some contests that you could WIN with those! Email me any tips that you want to pass on... no matter how hard I try, all of mine are blurry! As far as weekend adventures, I think the broken arm that Adam got a week ago pretty much has engulfed us. We are hunting for normal... :<) (and enjoying the sunshine, I might add....)

Well, at least it wasn't boring!
The typos cracked me up. I don't eat broccoli and I most definitely wouldn't eat broccoccoli!!

Good grief, April- getting locked out sounds like something that would happen to me! *hehe*
I think I would pass on the Moo Goo Gai Pain, too... maybe that's what it does to you later? *giggle*
LOVED the pictures of Bella and Maddie romping outside!

That's terrible to be locked out! I have a keyless car but keep a house key in a side pocket in my purse. Several times I have taken my car into service and drove away in the loaner without my garage door opener. Thankfully we also have a keypad on our door.

Your pictures of the doggies are so cute! Too funny about the menu!
