Let's Make A Deal...PLEASE!!!

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming today because in less than an hour, we have our first SECOND showing in 16 LONG months!  Yep...my blood pressure is probably sky high right now, but my house is spic and span CLEAN! Those people better appreciate all of my hard work! So, since I'm on borrowed time, I'll forgo my regular post for today and save it until next week...when I'm not so STRESSED! Keep those fingers crossed that this will be the one to seal the deal!

Locked Out...And Other Weekend "Adventures"

Friday was a stressful day! We had a showing scheduled for 4:30 PM, so I zipped around and got everything in tip-top shape. You know my usual drill! Well, the realtor called at 4:00 PM saying that her client had an emergency at work and wanted to know if we could reschedule for Sunday. Sure, no problem, lady...I'm just here for your convenience! Do you get the sense that my stress level was way up there?

We had another showing scheduled for Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. The good thing is that I already had the house picked up, so I didn't have to do it, again. I let Abby sleep in as late as I could, then we left to go drive around while our house was being shown. Chris was on his way home from watching Brittany compete at LSU and was due home around noon. Well, after the showing was over, Abby and I went back home so that she could get herself ready as we were planning to go out for lunch with Chris. We got out of the car and I reached for the garage door that leads into our house, but it didn't turn. Yeah, you've got it...we were LOCKED OUT! I've never had a house key on my key ring because we always keep the garage door unlocked. The one Chris had he gave to our realtor to put in our lock box. Not too smart, I know! Well, long story short, Abby and I had to sit outside and wait for over an hour for our realtor to swing by and unlock our front door for us. Definitely not the way I'd planned to start off our weekend!

Chris got home shortly, thereafter, and we went and grabbed some Chinese food for lunch. As we were waiting to place our order, Abby and I noticed these typos on our menus. Hmm...think I'll steer clear of Moo Goo Gai Pain and what in the world is Brococcoli?

Our weather on Saturday afternoon was out-of-this world BEAUTIFUL! The temps. reached the mid-70's...everyone was out in shorts and flip-flops! After we went to lunch, we went over to Home Depot and got some copies made of our house key. I will keep one on my key ring from now on! Of course, I couldn't resist buying some violas. Just look at those magnificent colors!

Maddie couldn't pass on the chance to stretch out in the warm sunshine and soak up some rays.

Of course, Bella had a one-track mind and wanted to play ball...over and over, again! What I'd give for just an ounce of her energy!

So, tell, me...how was your weekend? Any "adventures" you care to share?

P.S. My good bloggy friend, Mamarazzi, is having a giveaway over at her blog Dandelion Wishes . How 'bout you pay her a visit and get your name in the hat to WIN?

Will This Madness Ever End?

Well, our home has been on the market now for about 13 LONG months. Never, in a million years did we think it would take us this long to sell our house...NEVER! Every house that we've ever owned has sold quickly...one sold the day before we "officially" put it on the market. Of course, the housing market has been in a tailspin for quite some time, which certainly doesn't help the issue. I'm just ready to close this particular chapter of our lives and move forward.

It is encouraging that we've, at least, had a lot of showings...just no offers as of yet. I got a call last night, in fact, from a realtor wanting to show our house this morning. Though I wasn't really "in the mood" to deal with it, we're in a position where we simply can't pass on any opportunities that come up. All it takes is the right buyer at the right time.

So, once again, I'm going to drag my faithful friend...my vacuum cleaner...out of the closet and let her do her work. Where would I be without her?

Of course, I'll grab my can of Pledge and my bottle of Windex and work the house over in a frenzied fashion to make sure that everything looks "just so". It's become my typical daily routine.

So, I guess I should pull myself away from the computer and hop to it! We're on a countdown of T-minus 65 mins. Just say a prayer and keep those fingers crossed that this is the last showing we'll have to deal with for a long, long time to come! What I'd give to see this sign plopped down in our front yard...

Calgon...take me AWAY!

Running Around in Circles

I figured I'd better post something quick this morning because we have our first showing around 10:15 to 10:45 AM today. I've been running around like a crazy woman trying to get everything picked up and in it's place. Of course, all of the blinds have to be opened and I have to turn on all the lights. Then, I'm going to have to throw Bella and Maddie in the car and we're going to have to drive around for about an hour until the showing is over. Fun times, I'm tellin' ya! Oh, how I wish this whole mess was over! It stresses me out so much!

Chris and Brittany left a few minutes ago for Mobile. She has her 3rd official visit this weekend and she's really excited about it! Then, of course, she has a BIG day on Monday, which I'll be writing about later. Just lots of emotions swirling around...from excitement to sadness...and everything in between. I'll be sure to explain later.

Well, I still have much to accomplish, so I should get busy! I know I haven't been very consistent about blogging lately, but I hope you understand that life is pretty WILD right now. I'm sure I'll survive, though...I'm a tough ol' bird! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
