Weekend Review

Aren't you proud of me? I think I'm finally getting back into the swing of blogging, again! Feels so good, too!

OK, where shall I start?  Well, I'm happy to report that we found a homecoming dress for Abby! We went out on Saturday afternoon and visited several different shops, but nothing caught our eye.  We went to the store where her best friend found her dress and it was HUGE!  I have never seen so many gowns and dresses in one place in my entire life!  We had the best fun looking at them all!  However, we didn't find a single short dress under $175, which is what her friend paid.  I'm sorry, but we're talking homecoming here, not prom.  I wasn't about to spend that kind of money.  So, we were both beginning to feel a bit frustrated when we spotted a new consignment store that had just opened.  We went in and Abby, immediately, found about 6 dresses to try on.  The last one fit her like a dream and was perfect in length and in style...so we bought it.

Here's a little peek...

I was tickled with what I paid for it, too...only $60 and it looks like it's never even been worn.  Glam it up with the right jewelry and a pair of cute shoes and she'll be all set!

Poor ol' Maddie...when she heard the news that my Arkansas Razorbacks lost to the Univ. of Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night, she crawled up under the sofa and hid from the world. She just couldn't take it! Wish I could have joined her! Sad defeat for my HOGS.

One thing I can't complain about, however, is the absolutely GORGEOUS weather we had! The sky on Sunday afternoon looked like a painting.  Definitely God's masterpiece!  Have any of you noticed how fluffy and low the clouds seem to be lately?  I can't get enough of them!  For any of you who might follow me on Instagram, my pictures attest to that!

Here's another shot I took...

So, do tell...how was your weekend?  I don't know about you, but I sure am lovin' these cooler temps!  I do believe fall is in the air!

It's Gonna Be A Whirlwind!

This weekend is going to be a WILD one! Oh, where to begin?! Hmm...let's see, around 6 AM in the morning, on a SATURDAY mind you, my feet will be hitting the floor so that I can get myself ready to head over to Brittany's cross country meet. It's one our booster club is sponsoring, so the parents and athletes are responsible for the entire thing...2,000 runners are expected and a total of 60 teams! We're in charge of setting up the course, providing food for the coaches, running the finish chutes, handing out awards...the whole kit and caboodle. I'm scheduled to work in the hospitality tent from 12:00-2:30 PM, as well as collect the finish tags. That's one job that makes me a nervous wreck! As the runners come through the chutes, they're supposed to hand you their place tag and you have to string in on a metal hoop. Last year, the wind was blowing so hard and it was COLD! I was such a nervous wreck that I'd drop them and they'd go flying all over the place! Hopefully, that won't happen. Oh, the pressure! Chris and I will be there until 3:30PM or so, but since Brittany runs at 8 AM, she's allowed to leave at 11:30 AM.

That is definitely a good thing because you know what tomorrow night is? It's the night of the HOMECOMING DANCE! Yes, I'll have to rush home and help Brittany get ready...if she'll let me, that is! With this being her last one, I want to enjoy every second of it. She and her boyfriend are meeting up with a bunch of friends at a local park around 5:45 PM for pictures, so I'll definitely be there for that! It will be a long, exhausting night for us "old folks".

So, I won't be posting, again, until Monday. Enjoy your weekend...I just hope I survive mine! :)
