Like A Step Back In Time

Several days ago, I received a message on my Facebook wall from a friend of mine in Collierville, TN. She knew that Shaun Cassidy was my teenage heartthrob...HUBBA-HUBBA! She wanted to know if I still had his albums.  Sadly enough, I had to tell her 'no'. She proceeded to inform me that she'd bought 3 of his albums recently at an estate sale and that they were on their way to ME!  I wanted to jump up and down with wild abandon! So, when they arrived on our front doorstep, I ripped open the box in about one second flat! Suddenly, all the memories of when I was 15 years old came flooding back. I owned each one of these albums. I used to sit in my room and sing along with Shaun to the top of my lungs...

"Met her on a Monday and my heart stood still,
Da doo ron ron, da doo ron ron,
Somebody told me that her name was Jill,
Da doo ron ron, da doo ron ron."

My friend has no idea how much she made my day, my LIFE! Just wish I still had my record player so I could listen to them!

I'm sure you heard about all the bad weather that ripped through several states on Friday night, causing the loss of many lives. We sat in front of the TV that night listening to the weathermen issue one tornado warning after another for our county and surrounding areas.  Thankfully, the storm passed just north of where we live here in Georgia, but others weren't as fortunate. Just boggles my mind the path of destruction that was left behind.  Needless to say, on Saturday, we were quickly reminded that hope springs eternal...

Have a wonderful Monday, everyone!  I'm certain I'll be singing along with Shaun for the rest of the day!  Ahh...to be 15, again!

P.S.  This could prove to be a very exciting and stressful week. As you know, Chris received a verbal offer from a company that would require us to move to South Carolina, at our own expense, I might add. No written offer yet because the company has been on a cruise for the past week. We're thinking it will come sometime this week. Now, here's the dilemma.  He has 3 other very GOOD opportunities brewing right now...all of which would not require us to move. He will hear back from a company this afternoon that seems very interested and that he's already had two interviews with.  Another company's hiring manager will call today to inform him if they're going to proceed with a personal interview.  They need to have someone in place no later than the end of the month.  Then, on Wednesday, he'll drive up to Nashville for a third interview with another company. Now, what we don't want to happen is for him to receive the written offer from the company who wants to move us to South Carolina before we know something from these other companies that he's more interested in.  He would hate to accept the offer from them, only to have to quit a week or two later.  So, please keep him close in your prayers!

I had a Shaun Cassidy nightgown that had his face plastered dead in the center, encircled by a giant heart. It was pink. :D

Shaun Cassidy, such a "heart throb" back then! I saw him just last year on Oprah's last season. He's grown old gracefully :)

What a great dilemma for your husband to have, with today's unemployment rates! I hope all works out for him.

OH man!!! :( What a dilemma!!! Praying for a clear decision on what to do. Doesnt sound like South Carolina is where you want to be anyways - so why not just wait? But I know how hard it is to pass up a job opportunity too :(

If you end up in Nasvhille, my step daughter is planning on moving there this summer - so we'll be down there CONSTANTLY... perfect way for us to meet up for lunch sometimes :) See? I'm pushing for waiting for Nashville - haha!!!

Yikes. What a stressful time April. Believe me I definitely understand all too well. Things always have a way of working out exactly the way they were supposed to in the end. My prayers are with you all. SC is very nice. So is Nashville.

PS I remember those albums! Cool!

That's great to hear about all the options. God knows! We'll be praying as well.

So sorry to hear of the losses with the recent tornadoes but also nice to hear that you are safe. God bless.

Thank you, April, for participating! This is the first time I've done something like this and I am pleasantly surprised at the outcome so far!

I will be praying, April. This is exciting news! You know, if you go to amazon, they have Shaun Cassidy's greatest hits CD- I bought it months ago! It brought back some great memories! Want me to burn a copy for you? I'm sure I could figure it out.:) Lori

Oh, you have no idea how many times I kissed that album on the left. I LOVED Shaun Cassidy. Wrote him letters professing my love to him, in fact. At 13 years of age, my stalking was quite safe. :D

Praying for Chris and y'all and this job situation...

Oh my gosh April, that was soooo nice! My Mom & Dad bought a record player a few years ago so they could listen to their records. You can still buy them!

Praying the RIGHT job comes open for Chris!

I don't know why my new blog is all the way at the bottom either...:(! I know it works well with Google Reader. Just visit when you can. I'm getting to where I only have time to blog once or twice a month.
