What A Wonderful World

Yesterday, Chris and I went for about a 5-mile hike at one of our local parks.  The weather for February was outstanding...temps. in the lower 70's!  Now, that's my kind of winter!  We both worked up a good sweat...and it felt so good!  Of course, I didn't forget to take my camera along.  There are always so many sights to see...and I didn't want to miss a thing!

Brings to mind of one of my favorite poems...

The Road Not Taken
by
Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I'm so glad that I often choose to take the road less traveled...how 'bout you?

I used that poem for a youth lesson one time about the parable of the broad road & narrow road :)

Love you take your camera with you on walks... loving that last picture too!

Gorgeous pictures, especially that one of the cardinal. That's stunning!

We do a lot of hiking here too, most weekends if the weather permits. It's my favorite passtime. Next to blogging of course : )

Yes!!! Great poem for such a picture. The weather has been amazing, huh?? I kinda feel robbed because we really haven't had a winter but then... when I see flowers popping up, able to take a walks, etc.--- I get over it quickly! :)

Your really got some great shots, April. In some pictures it looks like spring and the one of the road looks like fall! Sounds like it was a fun day!

Loved your pictures, and I have always taken the less traveled way. I have found so many interesting things along the way.

Beautiful. I especially love the one of the redbird. I can't believe how mild this winter has been. I keep waiting for the cold snap.

That is one of my favorite poems of all time too. :)

That's a very different outlook than what I would have if I went for a walk right now. I would be exhausted if I put on all the gear needed and tromped through the snow for 5 miles!

Such pretty pictures!!! What kind of camera do you have? Your pictures are always so good!

Glad y'all had a nice walk together. I like the warm weather but I do wish we'd get a little snow before Spring though.
