Wednesday Hodgepodge is always a highlight of my week! If you're in the mood to play along and have a little fun with the rest of us, head on over to Joyce's blog and link up! Let the good times roll!
Here's the questions for today:
1. George Washington-Abraham Lincoln-Thomas Jefferson...who would you like most to meet and why? I would definitely have to pick George. With him being our very first President, I'd love to know what he felt like when he was awarded that honor and responsibility. What did he consider to be his greatest weaknesses and triumphs? Did you know that he was the only President to ever be elected unanimously? Pretty amazing, huh?
2. What's your favorite chain restaurant? This one is easy peasy! When I'm in the mood from some good ol' comfort food, I head straight to Chick Fil-A for this...
Just so we're clear...I'll take a sweet tea with that!
3. When you look back on your life, do you imagine you'll think about the goals you didn't meet with regret? Or will you look at what you've accomplished and say-it was good? This is kind of a tricky one. I've been a stay-at-home mom for 20 years now and I have never once regretted the decision I made to be home with my girls. However, I do often wonder what things would have been like if I'd stayed in my profession of being a speech-language pathologist. Would I have worked in a hospital setting or perhaps in a rehabilitation center? I don't feel any regret, but I am curious about it. Of course, I think the path I've been on all these years is the exact path I was meant to take all along.
4. Grapefruit-take 'em or leave 'em? Given the choice between an orange and a grapefruit, which would you choose? Would you prefer it served 'as is' or squeezed into juice? I love grapefruit, but I don't buy them very often, at all. I prefer to eat them exactly as they come with a little salt sprinkled on top.
5. When was the last time you cleaned out a closet? Is there a closet in your home that currently needs cleaning? What are you waiting for? I'm proud to say that all of my closets are good to go! At the end of December of every year, we always go on a cleaning frenzy and donate a bunch of stuff to Goodwill. I find it to be very therapeutic.
6. You get to have lunch with 3 famous people...who would you like to see round your table? OK...first and foremost would be this man...
Tim McGraw! You have to have a little eye candy, you know? Of course, I'd have to remind myself not to order anything to eat with stringy cheese...that wouldn't be very pretty draped all over my chin! My 2nd choice would be this fella...
Tim Tebow! I would love to hear his personal testimony...he's such an inspiration and example of FAITH! Hmm...wonder if I could slip him Brittany's phone number? My 3rd choice would be this country bumpkin...
Miss Dolly Parton herself! I bet she'd be a hoot and a half to visit with! She just seems so genuine and real and I love that about her! She's just who she is...take it or leave it!
7. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your ability to parallel park? Hmm...I don't do it often, but when I do, I'm always amazed at how good I am! So, with that said, I'd give myself an 8! Not bad, huh?
8. Insert you own random thought here. With Chris getting a job offer (FINALLY) yesterday, I've been anxious about a lot of things. First of all, I'm nervous about transferring Abby out of the high school she's now attending. Sometimes, that can be a difficult transition for kids to make. She's already told me several times that she doesn't want to move...and that's hard on my heart. Secondly, it would put us about 3 hours farther away from Brittany. Thirdly, the very thought of trying to sell our house, again, makes me crazy! Everything has to be 'just so' all the time and it's next to impossible to relax because you never know when a realtor might call for a showing. So, please pray for me during this exciting, yet emotional time. I'm certain that everything will work out in the end, just as it's intended to be.

Glad to hear about the job. Where will you guys be moving and when? Will your daughter be able to finish out the year? When does he start? I will be praying that the house sells.

I've never met Dolly, but I've seen her in concert and from what I hear she's hoot in person.
And ol' Tim is lookin' fiiine... :)
I'm praying that if a move is in your future, God will take care of everything and let it be smooth transition for everyone... ((HUGS))

I'd love to meet Dolly! She is such a hoot.
My family had to made a move from GA to NC when I was 15. I was mortified when I first found out but of course everything turned out just fine.

I hope things work out for good and they will :) May God grant you peace about every upcoming decisions.
You're the 2nd one I've read who'd like to have Tim Tebow at their table. And, at first glance I thought Tim McGraw was Hugh Jackman...dang, I forgot about Hugh Jackman. Maybe I should go change my answer. {{{snort}}}

Carrie
Speech pathology was my minor! I sincerely hope things work out with all of the things you are juggling. (Not sure if it is at my end, but on two different browsers, the text part of your blog is completely black, and I have to scroll over the words to read them. Not sure if anyone else is having that problem with it?? No stranger to blog problems here--I think I have my comments section working again!)
Can you believe I have never eaten at Chick Fil-A? Ha.
Happy for the job offer but do not relish all that that involves for you. But I also know everything will work out too! God's plans aren't always easy, right?
Dolly Partin. I would love to meet her. Great pick. I have always loved her.
I love Chick-Fil-A!
We live about 45 minutes from Sevierville, TN Dolly's hometown. One of my former bosses went to high school with her. She got her start her in Knoxville on a local radio station. Tim Tebow is a nice young man. It would be so inspiring to meet him and he'd certainly be a nice catch for some young lady. I like Tim McGraw, especially after seeing him in The Blind Side. Best of luck with selling your home and the move. Thanks for visiting today and it was a pleasure to meet you. BTW, I've been a SAHM for 23 years so I can relate. =D
Can I come to lunch if Tim McGraw is there? He is so HOT! Let me know in plenty of time so I can lose a few pounds between now and then. HA!
I love me some Chick-Fil-A! MMM! That fried chicken sandwich is sooooo goooood!
I am so excited about Chris' job offer! WOO HOO! Way to go, Chris! Everything will work out just the way God has it planned. It's all good. Although, I cannlt imagine having to keep my house show-ready all the time. ICK! Praying or y'all and especally Abby. The thought of leaving her friends must be weighing heavily on her now.
I have never been to one of those restaurants! I'll be praying for you and the decisions you all need to be making in the next few weeks. :) Thanks for your comment on my blog today!
Oh, sweet tea...oh yes...a new ritual for me!!!
BTW, after all of the stress you've been under, moving will be a piece of cake. God will take care of the details. Trust, my friend. The hard part is over!!
I can't believe I forgot Chick Fil A. There are none near here, so we always make sure we stop at Chick Fil A for lunch when we travel (always to the south/southeast).
Do you ever watch the Duggars?
Fun questions. I'll have to check out Joy's Hodge Podge link. I would definitely like to meet Thomas Jefferson. He was such a fascinating man with such an inquisitive mind. Been to Monticello and fell in love with his gardens. And parallel parking? I rock that. Surprising because I'm that obnoxious crooked parker when pulling into a straight parking lot spot. Go figure. Happy Wednesday. The Empty Nest Mom
Chick Fil-A is a great choice. I like grapefruit too but seldom buy it, I wonder why! I was never good at parallel parking and here I am with a Mini Cooper, still can't do it! Keeping you in my prayers.
Congratulations on your husband getting a job offer! This was a fun list to read through...very thought provoking! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Congratulations on your husband's job offer! That is exciting for your family. Will you still be in Georgia?
I love sweet tea, too. I don't think I've ever tried the tea at Chick-Fil-A though. I've only been there once. I'll have to go again :D
I have to agree about Chick fil A! That is such a good place to eat! I bet Dolly would be a ton of fun to be around!
