Valentine's Day can be tough on a 15 year old girl. You so wish you had that "special someone" to celebrate the day with...because
EVERYBODY else does! I certainly remember feeling like that when I was a young teen. All of my friends would get flowers, cards, and candy from their boyfriends and I was left to wallow in my misery and self-pity. So, being that Abby doesn't have a boyfriend (no complaints from me!), Chris and I decided to have a little surprise waiting for her when she got home from school. It wasn't much...just a simple bouquet of flowers and some of her favorite candy. Just enough to make her feel special and
LOVED.
Of course, it probably didn't help much for Brittany to send her a picture of the tulips Connor got her. I have to admit that Abby and I were a bit shocked, to be honest, that he didn't give her another canister of
Tony's Creole Seasoning...remember Christmas? That's another story for another day (cough, cough)!

What the heck? Brittany picks some winners, huh?
That's so sweet... my daddy STILL gets me something for Valentine's day! :)
we were in the same boat Brinsley and her boyfriend broke up last week (no I am not complaining lol) so Johnny bought her some flowers too!
We enjoy Tony's Creole Seasoning especially on my Salmon recipe, so I'd be interested in hearing your story. The stuff does literally make me sneeze.
The right man will come along and sweep your daughter off her feet soon enough. Her patience is worth it!
I guess that flowers are a step up from Tony's Creole Seasoning. Glad that you made your daughter feel special.
Lindsey went to the movies Valentine's night with a bunch of girls. Its their tradition till they have boyfriends.
That reminds me of when my Dad would bring all of us girls a carnation and a card home. So sweet. :)
As for Abby's boyfriend... tulips are sweet and way better than seasonings. ;)
Oh I remember those days oh too well!! Glad you did something special for her. My son, who is 15 on Saturday, bought a card and gave it to someone. Hubby and I have no clue who! I just hope it was received well. Enjoy your day!
Oh, how I remember those days. At our school, if your boyfriend ordered you flowers and had them delivered, they would bring them to you in class. It was torture on the girls without boyfriends! In college, my roomate and I were without boyfriend and we ate an entire chocolate cake on Valentine's night. Sad. So sweet of y'all to make Abby feel special!
So glad Brittany's boyfriend did better than seasoning for Valentine's. Did his Christmas present have personal meaning at all? Like, did they have cajun for the first date or something? If not, that's just sad!
She's my kind of candy lovin' girl.
and I wouldn't mind the creole seasoning either. HA!
What a sweet surprise you had waiting at home for her. That was so funny at Christmas!
Sniff, sniff. My dad would have never done that.
J had her first Valentine that was not her daddy this year. he was a little heart broken until she came home after school and told him "you will always be my first valentine daddy" it made HIM feel better...lol.
what a sweet thing to do for your girly.
Hi April
It's a tradition in my famliy to do this. My Grandma would always send me a card and a little something. Now my Mum does this for Jessica too. This year she bought her a mug with a heart on it filled with chocolates. I am sure Abby will have loved her flowers and goodies.

I hope you had a good weekend!
How sweet to get Abby her own valentine's gift! I got my stepson his favorite candy for valentines too. Hope you're doing well!
HUGS,
Shelley
That is so sweet! My parents did the same thing for me when I was young. I still laugh about the seasoning! Too funny!
