My mom absolutely adored hummingbirds. She's been gone now for 11 years, so I have this special hummingbird hanging on our tree in her memory. It always gets placed front and center, high at the top.
My brother, Kevin, passed away in 2002. We were exceptionally close and I miss him dearly every single day.
My sweet dad passed away in 2006. In my heart, I will always be his "little girl".
This picture shows me with my brothers when I was about a year old, back when times were so much simpler.
This is one of the first ornaments Chris and I purchased as a newly married couple.
Of course, I can't say enough about my wonderful mom. She made me who I am today and I'd give anything if she were still here. She always made Christmas so much FUN!
Here's a handcrafted ornament we bought when we went to Hawaii. We got the opportunity to swim with sea turtles, so this ornament helps bring back fond memories of those amazing creatures.
And last, but not least, here's the nativity that Chris surprised me with 22 years ago, shortly after we got married. I hope it continues to remain intact as it's been an important part of our Christmas celebration for all those years.
Oh, how I LOVE this time of year and am so thankful for my memories!

What a sweet post!
The best part about Christmas is the memories!
This post was very touching. Today is the anniversary of my own dad's passing so I'm feeling a little wobbly. Almost all of our ornaments have a memory associated with them. That's what I love most about our tree.
Hope you have a happy Monday!
Beautiful ornaments and memories and I love that nativity. Gorgeous!
Good to still have memories of your loved ones with you during the Holidays :) Seeing their faces so near...
I love nativity sets... so special when they're ones you've had for awhile & hold meaning :)
You have some special ornaments. Don't you wish that you could look at them all year long?
What great ornaments and the memories attached to them.
I decorate my tree like you do, April. I call it a "memory tree."
I love sentimental ornaments! I especially love the one with the pictures of you and your brothers. Such precious memories!
What lovely ornaments!!! Thank you for sharing them, and their stories!
We still haven't put up the tree, but definitely will this weekend! We have some special ones too, and this year we each picked out a Disney one from our Paris trip. Thanks for the bloggy idea!
Growing up, there were two ornaments that I loved: one tiny wooden angel sitting on the moon and some clear plastic angels that my mom has had since the late 70s. Every time I would take them out, I was immediately put in the Christmas spirit! I have yet to find special ornaments for my own family, but now, I think I might just make some!
Those are all so precious. Yes I do have many that mean the world to me.
Beautiful post... Loved all your special ornaments and memories... !! Yes, I guess everyone has some things that are very close to their heart !!
I love the idea of the picture ornaments. That's a great way of remembering your loved ones that have passed!
