Here she is with nearly her entire head buried as she locates her prey with precision. Oh, I'm sure those chipmunks were shuddering with FEAR! She was like a Rottweiler in disguise!
She snorted and scratched as if she'd found a pot of gold! When she finally came up for air, her face looked like that of a seasoned warrior. I think I might have even witnessed a bead of sweat drop from her brow. She had a mission she was determined to fulfill!
Needless to say, no chipmunks lost their life during Maddie's hunt. In fact, truth be told, if she'd made contact with one, she'd have run away like a scared rabbit! So, the remainder of her day involved a warm bath and a long, relaxing nap. Perfect ending to a perfect day!

We have a hunting dog (Gordon Setter)...she's a bird dog but she gives the chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits and groundhogs a run for their money too! Your pup is cute : )
Dogs are so funny how their natural instincts kick in. We have some "molers" ... 2 of our dogs chase the moles in our back yard... coming in with those dirty faces too.. HATE when it rains & those faces are MUD!!!
My dog blacklab/queensland heeler is a herd/retriever dog. Not too much to herd in the city, but she did herd a chicken into the house, and she did retrieve a pigeon that she captured, and brought it into the house. Good dog.
Your dog is so cute! At first I was going to ask him to come here and help catch some of the field mice we have living under our back porch, but I guess he would rather just sit up on our swing? I love the ornaments you shared in yesterday's post! And the manger set is beautiful. My hubby and I were looking at our ornaments the other day and we had so much fun remembering all the memories that were behind each one! I was a Daddy's girl also and miss my dad more and more. I need to frame a picture of him like you did! Enjoy your day!
So sweet. I love dachshunds. We had 2 growing up. I would love to have one again, but unfortunately my husband doesn't much care for them. Oh well, I love the dog I have.
So cute!
Oh, I love it! Yes, those little wieners LOVE to dig! I caught one of mine at the end of the house the other day where he had pawed the plastic drain pipe from the gutters and was digging his way to China. He got a warm bath too! :)
Aww! She's so cute!

What a cutie pie she is!
Her head down in that hole is too funny! She is adorable!
