A Visitor in My Mailbox!

Yesterday afternoon, when I went out to check my mail, I opened my mailbox to find a package from North Carolina! I knew immediately what (or should I say WHO?) it was...Stitching Stella!!! I am so excited to have her come for a visit!

I'm sure that many of you read about Stella on Lorrie and Lindsay's blogs. Her "adventures" began in Yorkshire, England with Lindsay and her family. She, then, travelled to North Carolina to spend some time with Lorrie and her family. So, I was very fortunate to be chosen as the next person in line for Stella to visit!

OK, so as soon as I took Stella out, she immediately requested some fresh air. I took her outside on our back deck so she could enjoy the scenery of a "warm" December day. It was around 70 degrees...Stella was thrilled! Here she is on our deck with Lake Mulberry directly behind her. She wanted to go jump right in!
Once we got back inside, she hopped right up in our Christmas tree to take a closer inspection. She, actually, made mention of a section of about 8 or so lights that were burned out in the front. I know Stella...it's one more thing on my list! Oh, she was only trying to be helpful!
When she saw our nativity scene, she just had to be a part of it. She knocked poor ol' Joseph completely out of the way! She wanted to be right next to Mary and baby Jesus.
Stella attended Abby's first middle school concert with us last night. However, the choir director made an announcement that he did not want anyone taking flash photography during their performance. So, I had to take a couple of real quick photos between selections. Here's Abby walking across the stage (she's right in the middle) following her performance with 5 other girls. They did such a great job!
Another one of Abby, third over (R to L), bottom row...
After the concert, I made an attempt to take a picture of Stella outside the high school where it was held...the largest high school in Georgia, with an enrollment of nearly 4,300 students! Isn't that unreal??? However, it was too dark and there were lots of people walking around. They probably thought I was a little "off" when they saw me sitting Stella on a post outside of the high school and snapping her picture. Oh, well, that's half the fun, right? Brittany and Abby were laughing hysterically at me in the car!
I'll be certain to take Stella out with me as the week progresses so that you can see how her stay is going here in Georgia. Next week, she be traveling with us to South Carolina the day after Christmas. Should be fun! I think this is such a wonderful way for all of us to see different parts of our country and the world! So, be sure to be watching for another update on Stella's adventures!

Oh, what a wonderful idea.
I'm looking at about a half foot of snow and 20 degree temps, I'm slightly jealous of Stella in that warm toasty weather!

You are hilarious! And Stella is so bold! Knocking Joseph out the way ;). She's certainly seeing some sights. Have you thought about where she may be off to next. She looks like she could do with some sun, you know, some time on the beach, some sand play...ah, maybe not...but, we'd love to have her experience our Summer (now, who's being bold!!). Abby must delight her Mother being part of the Choir!!! I hope to start a singing group with our little Church next year. I have a boy whose voice is like an Angel's - I would so love to see him enjoy singing... Enjoy your warm day. Wishing for a light dusting of snow to come your way...

Stella is a lucky one. I wish that I could travel to different parts of the world for as cheap as she does. lol! I'm happy to see that she is having a great time with you! I was lol about you taking a picture of her on the school post. I could totally see me doing the same thing. Remember? I take pictures of my food at a resturant at times. lol! Talk about people looking and thinking I've lost it.

Happy Wednesday friend!

Hi April
Glad to see Stella has made it safely to Georgia. She will be so happy that it's warm there after the freezing conditions she experienced here in England and in North Carolina. I loved the pictures of her especially the nativity one where she looks like an angel. I laughed about you putting her on the post outside Brittany's school. I received some strange looks too when I stuck her on the post box and the telephone box! I am looking forward to more of her adventures with you.
Best Wishes
Lindsay

Oh April!! I'm sooo Jealous!!!! I soo wanted Stella when I saw her on Lindsays Blog! We had a "Flat Stanley" visit from Texas last year and boy did I get some weird looks, taking photo's of him in our local supermarket!
Loved the school pictures they all look so smart! The scenery where you live in just breathtaking, coming from a big crowded city I really appreciate your pretty, tranquil setting!
Enjoy the rest of Stella's visit, I'll be progress chasing for sure!!

That is so funny!
Stella is welcome at our house-if she makes it out of here alive-without being eaten by the puppy, that is, it would be fun to visit Michigan!

How very fun! I saw Stella at Lindsay anns and wondered where she would be. Good ole warm GA! We have lots of snow and more to come. It will be a white Christmas up here for sure!

Great verses you've shared...read them many times befroe and love them. I will be in prayer for those you mentioned. Looks like you've had quite a bit of loss in your family. I lost my Dad at the young age of 55 around Christmas...makes it kinda tough, but God is good and Christmas is a time to focus on Him and give thanks for sending His son for us.

Hello, this is my first visit to your place. I'm following Stella and it looks like she is in for another warm welcome. This is the best thing going in Blogland. I love your blog
and will be back again, if you don't mind. Love seeing what Stella is up to also. BTW, we spent this summer in and around Hiawassi this summer. I love northern GA.

Hugs,
Chris

Hi April,

I'm a Stella Stalker. I have never been to Georgia. Stella looks very happy with you and your family. Your girls are so cute! My daughter would have literally "died" if I would have taken a picture of Stella outside of her High School. I think she thinks I'm nuts already!! Anyway, I can't wait to see more of Stella's visit.
